NEW ICE IN RENO / SPARKS???? Nevadabroomball.com learned this week of TWO new projects currently in early planning stages to bring ice to Reno/Sparks. There will be a proposal and early planning meeting 7:00PM on Monday, March 3, at Morrey Distrubiting in Sparks to discuss the building of a facility with two sheets of ice. Anyone interested in getting permanent ice in the area should attend. Additionally, Red Development who is building the Legends at Sparks Marina shopping and entertainment center has announced the plans for a 7,500 seat sports arena to be included in the center. This facility will be able to accommodate Arena Football, ice shows, and Ice Hockey. Hopefully they will be meeting with the ECHL who still has investors ready to place a minor league hockey team in Reno/Sparks. Nevada Broomball will fully back and work with both of these projects to ensure their success. _______________________________________________________________________________________ |

TRUCKEE LEAGUE SEASON Ski
Bunnies Take Championship! On
a night of brutal ice conditions, Ski Bunnies were clearly on a mission
and were not to be denied.
First, they handled Smokies in a re-match of the 4-0 score they
put up just 2 nights before.
When a girl goal against them was waived off, the Bunnies marched
ahead to the Championship game by a 2-0 score. This would set up the
final game against 2-time defending Champs LaBatt who had taken out
Freshies 3-2, in the early game. In
ankle deep snow on top of slushy ice, the game didn’t resemble
broomball much but that didn’t slow down the Bunnies.
They hustled and battled to win every loose ball and blocked most
every LaBatt shot. FINAL STANDINGS (as of 3/14/08)
